Day THREE – #Loveme Challenge

One Word that Describes me

In high school, we had projects where we had to describe ourselves and I never knew what to say. I didn’t know who I was, so I’d ask my closest friends. I believed that whatever my closest friends and family thought about me, that’s who I was. I’m not really sure why I thought that I had a lot of messed up philosophies back then lol. I am relieved to say that I no longer think that way. The only person who can tell me who I am, besides me, is my Lord and savior. No man/women should have the power to tell me who I am or who I am going to be. When I real Day three, I got excited because I can finally answer this question without the help of others.

I am a timid person, which I don’t like about myself. There were several situations in my life that I was hesitant doing because I was terrified of failing. The fear of failing almost crippled me into not applying to jobs, not trying out for track and JV soccer in high school (just to name a few). I thought that if I didn’t try, I wouldn’t fail and I wouldn’t disappoint myself. The older I got, the more I understood that If I didn’t try I would never know If I could achieve what I was aiming for. With the help of God, I defeated financial problems, mental illness, and health problems. I haven’t defeated everything that’s coming/came against me YET, but I know that I will defeat those as well.
